Add a little happiness to your garden…
Selecting Plants – I love individual plants and shrubs that, without necessarily being focal points, stand out because of their own unique characteristics. It could be a single attribute of colour, or form or a combination of different factors that makes them special. It gets really exciting when collating the right combination of planting to create a display or border arrangement. It’s the difference between a single musical instrument, and an orchestra perfecting an arrangement in a specific and special way.

Plant Selection Advice – If you are new to gardening and wish to have a colourful garden every month of the year, then set aside a monthly budget for new plants. Make a habit of going to the Garden Centre every month and seeing what you like thats in flower. Keep within your budget, make your selection and bring them home and plant them.
This is significant for many reasons, but foremost, you get to fill the gaps where the right colour and size of plants are needed at that time – the garden will look better for it instantly. And, as with many plants and shrubs, once you have one, you can propagate them and replicate through the garden – through cuttings, collecting seeds or splitting etc. That one purchase will make your budget go a long way. If you get to the point of having too many, do a trade and swap them for something else with a neighbour or friend.
